SFBAC NATS, in collaboration with member Rachel Michelberg, is proud to present a special double event featuring the incredibly talented Eden Casteel: a cabaret music makeover workshop followed by her acclaimed one-woman show KAHN ARTIST: MADELINE & ME, in Los Altos Hills.
In the Cabaret Music Makeover Workshop, Eden Casteel will work hands-on with voice students to explore how cabaret techniques can deepen audience connection and transform a song to better suit the performer. This workshop is for anyone who has a song they love, but it doesn’t quite fit yet — we’ll make it fit THEM. Or, they know they won’t get cast in a specific show but they want to sing their favorite song from the show — how to have all the fun of doing a musical while only doing ONE song from the show. Or how applying cabaret fundamentals can transform a single song into a 5-minute musical.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of laughter and music as Eden Casteel dives headfirst into her lifelong obsession with the legendary Madeline Kahn—Mel Brooks’ comedic muse from Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and High Anxiety. Directed by Tony Award winner Faith Prince and co-written with Rod Ferguson, this hilarious and heartfelt performance blends outrageous storytelling, Kahn-inspired songs, and moments of sheer comic brilliance.
